Quest for Zero Point Energy - Engineering Principles for Free Energy

Book Description Free energy and anti-gravity are new solutions to the world's energy crisis. Rarely mentioned in the media-- even as power shortages cripple the U.S.-- Zero-Point Energy can transform our earth to a self-sustaining, pollution-free planet. The basic theory of Zero Point Energy maintains that there are fluctuations of electrical field energy embedded within the fabric of space. By identifying the densest energy; and then using today's technology to balance the energy flow, we can acquire free energy which doesn't deplete the earth. Filled with detailed diagrams, patents, and photos, the chapters include: * Fundamentals of Zero-Point Energy Technology * Tapping Zero-Point Energy as an Energy Source * Vacuum Energy Vortices * The Super Tube * Charge Clusters

Richard Clem's rotational engine

Although I do not have any information on Clem or his device, I would like to comment on the principle of operation, which seems quite simple and straightforward to who has studied the writings of Viktor Schauberger, the Austrian naturalist and inventor.

Indeed Schauberger was working with vortex action in liquids (especially in water) and was finding effects that were at the time, and are still now, unexplainable with the normal principles of physics or thermodynamics.

As far as I understand the engine made by Clem was built around a cone with spiralling channels cut into it and when a liquid, in that particular case vegetable oil, got pressed through the channels, they caused the cone to turn and at a certain point the flow of the liquid and the turning of the cone became self-sustaining, up to the point of putting out a good and heavy (350 HP for a 200 pound engine) power output.

Here are some examples of what I've found:

A swedish company, Plus & Minus AB, http://www.plusminus.se/, that sells IMO very expensive products, http://www.plusminus.se/produkter.htm. they are also sold in Finland, at http://www.bioaq.fi/ Water whirlers to add on to your faucet, 215 Euros (!)...

Then I've seen some of these Grander products;

http://www.kolumbus.fi/lootuskirja/elavavesi.htm

Another one is Nordic Living Water Systems - http://www.alivewater.net/apps.htm

What methods are there to try out these things? I can think of a few, growing something, and watering with either plain chlorified deadish tap-water, or water that has been run through one of these whirlers.

Another method, I read in an article here http://merlib.org/node/1017...

I've read that Curt has tested Dan Reeses Vortex System. Have you tested any of these aforementioned products, or similar ones?

The one provided by clean-water. dk is the one I have, it has an okay price, it whorls the water into a better structure and makes it easier for it to get into the body and cleanse. Drinking it at 4c is quite a nerve-freezing experience though, as the water pierces deep into the tounge and lips, the mouths cavity, afterwards its like a fresh taste, and one feels very awake!

A gripe I have to add, and perhaps a suggestion to boot is, they should use some better cans. The one provided now is in hard plastic and mine broke this spring during a frenzy of lambs getting birthed! So perhaps: A: There is an opportuniy for the likes of Tupperware to make better cans, and use Clean-Water`s technology thus getting a better distribution on the product. B: Since water is generally a light-shy entity it could be in the domain of local potters to mould nice jug, probalby upping ther mineral quality and content of the water contained...

I have also tried one more advanced apparatus done by japanese firm Nikken, that had a renewable mineral supply embedded in the system, and was using some sort of magnet technology for the whirl.. The water was well tasty as you probably can guess.

Cheers!

An Austrian, Viktor Schauberger was first and foremost a naturalist. His primary focus was water as found in naturally occurring streams, rivers and lakes. In observing the movement of water he formulated his own ideas about its movement and energetic properties. They are applicable in air also. His ideas are guite contrary to accepted ideas, both then and now and are even now imperfectly understood and debated. These ideas involved the vortex which was the way Schauberger believed that water naturally flowed both in the earth and in streams. Schauberger believed that energy naturally flowed in a vortex but that this movement was only visible through another medium such as water or air. This discussion will first focus on theories of why and how the Schauberger saucer model flew and then recount the sequence of events in Schauberger's involvement with flying discs.

Callum Coats: Eco-Technology vol.1: The Water Wizard - The Extraordinary Properties of Natural Water

Foreword

It was a Swedish engineer and anthroposophist, Olof Alexandersson, who wrote the first popular introduction to the radical ideas of Viktor Schauberger. I came across this attractive little book in 1979 and had it translated into English. Living Water is now in its eighth printing and has inspired many to go on to Callum Coats' in-depth study of Schauberger's ideas, Living Energies, which was published in 1996. My friendship with Callum goes back to 1981 when he confided in me his wish to write a definitive work on Viktor Schauberger. Callum had met Viktor's son, Walter Schauberger, in 1977 and was to spend three years studying with Walter at his Pythogoras-Keppler System Institute in Lauffen, in the Saltzkammergut near Salzburg. During that time, Callum was given access to all Viktor's writings.
Viktor Schauberger did not start seriously to write about his ideas and his discoveries until the age of 44, when he acquired a distinguished sponsor in Professor Philipp Forchheimer. As Callum describes later in this volume, Forchheimer, a world famous hydrologist, had been asked by the Austrian Government to report on Schauberger's controversial log flumes, which transported large amounts of timber from inaccessible locations without damage. He was so impressed with Schauberger's discovereies that he asked him to write a paper which was published in 1930 in Die Wasserwirtschaft , the Austrian Journal of Hydrology. This paper attracted the attention of the President of the Austrian Academy of Science, Professor Wilhelm Exner, and resulted in a commission to write a more detailed study of his theories for that same magazine under the title Temperature and the Movement of Water.
Schauberger's ideas completely flew in the face of conventional ideas of hydrology and water management and, as a result, gained him many enemies in scientific circles. The reason Viktor developed the strong feelings about orthodox scientific research that you will read in this and subsequent volumes was partly to defend himself from their attacks, and partly out of his despair at witnessing the ongoing destruction of the natural environment by their blind and uncaring technologies. It was this despair that motivated him to write his only book, Our Senseless Toil - the Cause of the World Crisis . It was published at a time of severe depression ,when many were worried about the future.
After Forchheimer died, Schauberger found another ally in Professor Werner Zimmermann who encouraged Viktor in 1935-1936 to write about the damage being wrought to the great rivers, the Rhine and the Danube, in a small 'new thought' magazine Tau . After Schauberger's death, two magazines published further collections of Schauberger's writings: Implosion was started by a student and collaborator of Viktor's, and published a number of his articles in the 1960s. Mensch und Technik in the 1970s published articles by and about Viktor Schauberger for the more free-thinking scientiific community.
Callum Coats has skilfully woven together these articles, together with correspondence with othere scientists, friends and officials of one kind or another, into a fascinating tapestry which gives a true and very readable account of Schauberger's impassioned campaign to alert the world to the dangers of the prevailing scientific dogma. Unfortunately, not much has changed, and Schauberger's vision of how humanity could work cooperatively with Nature is perhaps more relevant than ever.
Callum arranged this massive amount of material into a large volume, Eco-Technology. In considering this for publication, we realised that it would be much more accessible in several volumes, arranged by theme. This first one, The Water Wizard, is devoted to Schauberger's ideas about water and rivers. The second, Nature as Teacher, concerns the wider implications of his ideas on water and energy. The third, The Fertile Earth, describes the way trees transform energy, and processes of fertilisation of the soil . The final volume, The Energy Revolution , gathers together the discussion and description of Schauberger's appliances for purifying and energising water and for producing vast amounts of virtually free energy. Together with Living Energies, the Eco-technology series give a complete account of the vision and genius of one of the founders of the present ecological movement, and are an inspiration for all those who wish to see our precious Earth saved from extinction by short-sightedness and greed, and the emergence of a new partnership with bountiful Nature.

Atmospheric Vortex Engine

AVE Power Plant

Overview

Mechanical energy is produced when heat is carried upward by convection in the atmosphere. A process for producing a tornado-like vortex and concentrating mechanical energy where it can be captured is proposed. The existence of tornadoes proves that low intensity solar radiation can produce concentrated mechanical energy. It should be possible to control a naturally occurring process. Controlling where mechanical energy is produced in the atmosphere offers the possibility of harnessing solar energy without having to use solar collectors.

The Atmospheric Vortex Engine (AVE) is a process for capturing the mechanical energy which could be produced when heat is carried upward by convection in the atmosphere. The AVE process is protected by patent applications and could become a major source of electrical energy. The unit cost of electrical energy produced with an atmospheric vortex engine could be half the cost of the next most economical alternative.

Harnessing artificial tornadoes as an energy source

WEATHER systems, as the world has recently been reminded, have awesome power. The energy released by a large hurricane can exceed the energy consumption of the human race for a whole year, and even an average tornado has a power similar to that of a large power station. If only mankind could harness that energy, rather than being at its mercy. Louis Michaud, a Canadian engineer who works at a large oil company, believes he has devised a way to do just that, by generating artificial whirlwinds that can be controlled and harnessed. He calls his invention the “atmospheric vortex engine”.

David Dennard

What is Whirlpower? Whirlpower is a gravitational force of spinning mass. While spinning a charge makes an additional magnetic force, spinning mass makes an additional gravitational force. The greater the wobble the more it will affect its surrounding area. All spinning objects wobble be it ever so great or small. It acts like a lever as far as how gravity affects the area around a spinning mass.

When the hurricane gets big and fast enough, the eye wall wobbles and pulls the hurricane. This acceleration is Whirlpower.

IET-Community: Self-organizing flow technique - introduction to booklet

by IET http://www.iet-community.org/research/flowtechnique.html

Introduction
This report is an attempt to understand and learn from the ideas and inventions of the Austrian forester Viktor Schauberger. Viktor Schauberger already in the 1920s warned about environmental crisis, at a time at which it was not, as today, something recognized. During his lifetime, he encountered resistance and ridicule, and his perspective may still today be labelled as unconventional and unorthodox, although much of what he wrote about our handling of waters and forests today is more relevant than ever. As he wasn't an academic, but was more of a natural philosopher, he had trouble to communicate his ideas with contemporary scientists. In this report, we'll try to show how modern research in chaos and self-organizing systems give us a possibility to shed some new light on Vikor Schauberger, and perhaps establish a deeper understanding of the phenomena he described.

Dynamic Hydropower

Josef Hasslberger
Rome, Italy
December 1993

http://www.hasslberger.com/tecno/tecno_2.htm

The "suction turbine" or "jet turbine" of Viktor Schauberger

Hydropower engineering, up to this day, is almost esclusively concerned with two variables, one being the altitude differential between head water and turbine and the other the quantity of water that can be brought to flow through the turbines.

A third important variable, the velocity of flow of water, is generally not thought to be important. It is taken into consideration only as the velocity resulting from the release of water pressure connected to and dependent on altitude differential but not as an important factor in its own right. In fact, current design of hydropower facilities normally excludes utilization of the dynamic energy potential inherent in the free flow of water. A dam destroys this natural energy potential by bringing the water from its dynamic state of flow to a static state, a complete absence of motion.

If we study the writings of Viktor Schauberger and Ludwig Herbrand, we find that the energy inherent in the free and unhindered flow of water may be potentially much greater than that obtainable from the exclusive use of pressure resulting from altitude differential.

A normal flow of water rather than an altitude-induced pressure, has been used in mills and old blacksmith hammerworks of the pre-industrial era.

Schauberger

In recent times, it was Viktor Schauberger, the Austrian inventor and genial observer of nature's ways who first advocated the use of increased water velocity rather than water pressure for the production of hydroelectric power. He obtained a patent for what he termed a jet turbine (Strahlturbine) as early as the year 1930. (1)

The principles used by Schauberger in order to increase water velocity were the jet configuration of the water inlet pipe and the promotion, by spiral ribbings on the inside of the jet, of a vortex motion of the water.

Schauberger's patent actually gives us two very important clues to innovative changes in hydropower technology.

The first one is, that a pipe configured as a funnel or jet will increase the velocity of the water's flow by restricting the space available in which the water may flow. This increase in velocity is especially great if the funnel or jet allows or even encourages the water to form a characteristic flow pattern known as a vortex. This vortex pattern itself has a tendency, quite separate from the jet-effect, to increase the velocity of the water, to decrease its temperature and to augment the water's density.

The second innovation proposed by Schauberger is a revolutionary design of the turbine, obtaining rotation at very high speeds and at the same time avoiding the usual difficulties of cavitation found in normal high speed turbine designs. In fact Schauberger's turbine wheel is of conical shape, with 'ribs' spiralling down the surface of the cone in a corkscrew pattern, and it is located in the center of the jet of water. The corkscrew turbine wheel parts the flow of water, takes up the water's dynamic energy and lets the flow continue without major disruption. Turbines of current design "hack" the water into thousands of destructive counter flows and cross vortices, thus wasting much of the available energy and causing the common problem of cavitation, a super fast corrosion and destruction of turbine blade material.

Here is the description of this new type of turbine as given in Schauberger's patent number 117 749:

"The subject of the invention is a hydropower machine, which utilizes the living energy of a jet of water for the purpose of power generation.

According to the invention, the turbine wheel is a cone with corkscrew-like blades. The cone is aligned with its axis in the direction of the axis of the jet. In this way the jet of water is split and diverted out of its course and thus gives its whole living energy to the spinning cone in a way that, providing the lenght of the cone and the width of its base are in a correct relation to each other and provided the blades are set at the correct angle, these parameters depending on the speed of the water jet, the water will flow out of the machine without agitation.

The illustration is an approximate schematic representation of the invention.

The spinning cone, which is aligned with its axis (1) in the direction of the water jet leaving the jet pipe (2), is made up of blades (3) in the form of a corkscrew.

The ends (4) of these blades (3) are bent somewhat upwards against the direction of the arriving water jet in order to cause a diversion of the jet and to transfer as much as possible of the living energy of the jet to the spinning cone.

On the inside of the jet pipe (2) there are screw-like ribs (5) promoting a spin, which according to actual observations increase the speed of the water jet and the efficiency of the machine.

PATENT CLAIMS:

  • A jet turbine, distinguished by the fact that in the path of the water jet and aligned with its axis so as to split the jet, there is a turbine wheel in the form of a cone, the surface of which is formed of corkscrew-like blades.
  • A jet turbine according to claim 1, distinguished by a jet pipe (2) with ribs (5) slanted in the direction of spin of the turbine wheel."

This patent was applied for in 1926 and granted in 1930. It seems that Schauberger actually used a small turbine of this design in a stream of water near the forest wardens' building during those years, to generate electricity, but no reliable records are available. (2)

Herbrand

Another instance of the use of the dynamic powers of flowing water has been documented by Ludwig Herbrand, a German engineer who as a student in the mid 1930's was called to evaluate and calculate the parameters of some generators and exciter units that had recently been installed in the Rheinfelden power station, as well as to design electrical overload protection and relevant switching mechanisms for these generators. He was also required to compare the generators with those of another power station that had been described in an article of a specialized magazine.

Much to the dismay of the then young and inquisitive engineering student, it seemed that the generators under examination were supplying more electrical energy than they should have, according to accepted theory. One of the generators of the Rheinfelden power plant, with 50 cubic meters of water per second and an altitude differential of only one meter supplied just as much power as a generator in near Ryburg-Schwörstadt, which had a capacity of 250 cubic meters of water per second and an altitude differential from head waters to turbine of 12 meters! (3)

That fact was confirmed by prof. Finzi, the designer of the turbines and generators, saying to young Herbrand:

"Do not worry about this. It is correct. The generator has been working without problems for some time now. Make the calculations backwards and you will see for yourself. We are electrical engineers. Why, those other problems are not ours to solve, we leave them to the water people. We have repeated our measurements and the generator's yield of power is exactly as specified. The only thing is - no one knows about this." (4)

Herbrand was soon drafted into the army and World War II did not allow him to pursue the matter further. Only much later, in the 1970s and 1980s, Herbrand came back to the calculations made for his engineering exams and tried - so far without success - to interest industry and government in this different and more efficient use of hydropower.

Technical facts

I shall attempt to delineate here the technical facts, using calculations that are based on accepted formulas and physical considerations confirmed by actual experiment, to show that with a different approach to hydropower engineering, we could obtain significantly more electrical power than is being extracted from hydro resources today, with simpler machinery and less expenditure, as well as less disturbance to the environment.

As mentioned above, current hydropower engineering works with water pressure, obtained as a result of the altitude differential between head waters and location of the turbine. This pressure, when released through the turbine, results in a momentary acceleration of the water and thus in a certain velocity of the water jet. This velocity is calculated with the formula

v = Sqrt 2 . g . h v being the velocity, g the gravitational acceleration of the earth (9.81 m/sec2) and h the altitude differential measured in meters.

Example: An altitude of 12 m results in a velocity of Sqrt 2 . 9.81 . 12 = 15.3 m/sec.

The progression of velocity in relation to altitude differential is shown in the following table.

head in meters 12 24 36 48 60 72 84 96 108 120

velocity in m/sec 15.3 21.7 26.6 30.7 34.3 37.6 40.6 43.4 46 48.5

head in meters 132 144 156 168 180 192 204 216 228 240

velocity in m/sec 50.9 53.1 55.3 57.4 59.4 61.4 63.3 65.1 66.9 68.6
These values are rendered graphically below.

We see that the curve of velocity at first increases more steeply and then tends to flatten with higher altitude differentials.

Let us now examine the energy output in kilowatt with increasing altitude differential.

The increase of energy output is linear, as shown in the graphic above.

Calculation

The electrical energy that can be obtained from water is calculated on the basis of the velocity of flow and the mass of the water, i.e. magnitude of flow measured in cubic meters per second, according to the formula

E kin = m/2 . v 2 (kw)

An example, assuming a velocity of 25 m/sec and a mass of 5 cubic meters per second:

Implosion

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Implosion is a reverse explosion that concentrates matter and energy. Buildings are colloquially described to implode when demolished through explosives, causing them to collapse on themselves. Implosion is the inward collapse, the opposite of explosion...."

In the context of cavitation, implosion is a suctional process that causes matter to move inwards, not outwards as is the case with explosion. This inward (centripetal) motion, however, does not follow a straight (radial) path to the centre; it follows a spiralling, whirling path. This is called a vortex. In cavitation, a number of small bubbles of water vapor are created by the low pressure on one side of a propellor. When these bubbles collapse they can produce intense local shock waves which create noise and can cause local failure at the propellor's surface, a process leading to material erosion.

A characteristic feature of a vortex is that the outside of the vortex moves slowly and the centre moves fast. As water is imploded in a vortex, suspended particles, which are denser than water, are sucked into the centre of flow, frictional resistance is reduced and the speed of the flow is increased.

 http://www.newphys.se/fnysik/2_1/schauberger/

"...Viktor Schauberger's basic thesis contains a universal, twofold movement principle. He meant that life sustains by a gathering, implosive type of movement and reversed, a spreading, explosive movement that leads to the extinguishing of life. With the implosive movement coolness, suction growth and healthiness follows. The explosive movement generates heat, pressure, fragmentation, illness, and death. His opinion was that man had only succeeded in mastering the movement of death in order to release energy. All known engines are based on explosion, heat and pressure. To only use the explosive movement, definitely leads to the destruction of nature. These thoughts did not get any sympathy in his time, decades before the environmental problems showed up.

Therefore, one of Schaubergers aims was to investigate and artificially copy this movement that he could see that the nature was using in order to gather energy for different uses. Basically the movement could be described as an inward moving and twisting vortex. The appearance of the vortex is wide. A spiral galaxy is an expression for a disc-shaped vortex whose opponent could be a DNA molecule, which describes a nearly infinite long thread-shaped vortex. The grade of complexity becomes obvious if You realize that large vortices are composed of smaller vortices and so on

Vortex Water Systems

Vortex Water Systems

This is not new technology. It has been around for centuries. The Greeks first used it around 2000BC.

This is not a water softener. Nor is it Magic. This is: State-of-the-art Water Treatment for Rural or City applications.

Used for Many Applications - Residential, Agricultural, Commercial, and Industrial.

Benefits:

* A better tasting water.
* No more ugly stains on shower    walls and toilets.
* White clothes can be white again.
* Less soap and detergent required in    the laundry and dishwasher.
* Hard water spots and deposits    easier to clean - less chemicals    required to remove.
* Will not harm septic systems

Research and development of vortex water systems for rural private wells has been conducted in the field since 1998. Lab experiments and research are conducted in Malmo, Sweden by a team of researchers. Hundreds of systems are in operation in the United States, ranging in application from private wells to apartment buildings and mobile home parks. The systems are designed to require little to no scheduled maintenance. The nature of the problem water defines system design, which can be modified to achieve desired results. Field experience and lab experiments have provided positive results in the eradication of E.coli, algae, fungus, molds, anaerobic bacteria, coliform, cryptosporidium, and legionella. The vortex process places bacteria and viruses under high pressure (hydrocyclones) followed by a vacuum, which causes them to disintegrate.

http://www.sulis-health.co.uk/vs/links.shtml

One such is Dan Reese, who developed Vortex Water Systems in Texas, inspired by reading Alexandersson's Living Water. They are designed to solve the increasing problem of pollution of wells in the American South, by unwanted salts and minerals, and to restructure the water so that it feels smooth, uses less soap and tastes pure. The Vortex system has no moving parts or filters, does not use chemicals and is driven only by the force of the well pump. It was found that the system could be expanded to service as many as 76 homes from one well. A system is now being tested for removing mineral salts from a salt intrusion well, and a larger farm system to help with the problem of cotton rot and to use less water to grow the same amount of crops. These will be major breakthroughs for the industry.

The motion of the trout is still the key-factor of the implosion theory. The repulsine is also called the trout turbine. Imagine the trouts head as the repulsine, together with a gill-system, to implode water. See if you get this, the impulse comes from the flowing water, intake through the mouth, creation of new water/vortex ring through the gill-systems, exit trough the gill and creation of a imploding vortex (re-pulse). The trout will be shot-away like a prunestone that is launched between two fingers.

To better understand the fluid forcing produced by fish when they are swimming it is necessary to first discuss the basic concept of a vortex and vorticity. A vortex arises when flow encircles a central point. Examples of where vortices occur in nature include: whirlpools, tornados, ocean eddies, blood flow through heart valves, and flow swirling behind rocks in a river current. Vortices appear in engineering fluid applications as well: flow around offshore platforms, tip-vortices from aircraft wings, helical vortices in propeller wakes and helicopter rotors. In general, vortices can form when flow passes any object with a non-streamlined shape or a sharp corner, and separates from the body.

Fish Exploiting Vortices Decrease Muscle Activity - forelvortex.pdf

Fishes moving through turbulent flows or in formation are regularly exposed to vortices. Although animals living in fluid environments commonly capture energy from vortices, experimental data on the hydrodynamics and neural control of interactions between fish and vortices are lacking. We used quantitative flow visualization and electromyography to show that trout will adopt a novel mode of locomotion to slalom in between experimentally generated vortices by activating only their anterior axial muscles. Reduced muscle activity during vortex exploitation compared with the activity of fishes engaged in undulatory swimming suggests a decrease in the cost of locomotion and provides a mechanism to understand the patterns of fish distributions in schools and riverine environments.....

..."Evidence suggests that many fish exploit the natural instability of the flow energetics to assist them in propulsion and maneuvering. By tuning their own kinematics, the fish is able to swim efficiently, to generate large thrust and turning forces, and to move silently through the flow with minimal wasted energy...."

Hi Curt

Interesting to hear what you have accomplished. Now I have an interest in the repulsine because, it can be adapted for water purification, air land and water transportation, cooling air, free electricity, and a host of others limited only by imagination.

I must furnish those, who would protect or save life, with an energy source, which produces energy so cheaply that nuclear fission will not only be uneconomical, but ridiculous, This is the task I have set myself in what little life I have left
